Additional Annual Events

CSA hosts two annual events that are highlights of our calendar.

Our Hunter's Safety courses, offered each spring and fall, provide essential training for safe and responsible hunting.
In addition, our annual Hunter Sight-In Clinic, held in late October to early November, allows members to verify membership, review range safety rules, sight in their firearms, and receive guidance from experienced shooters. This clinic ensures everyone is prepared for the season while connecting with fellow members and reinforcing CSA’s commitment to safety and responsible shooting.

Hunter's Safety Training

Wisconsin DNR Hunter Safety Course at CSA Ready to embrace Wisconsin’s hunting heritage? Join us at Columbus Sportsman’s Association for a DNR-approved Hunter Safety Course! Perfect for youth and first-time hunters, this multi-day course equips you with the skills and certification to hunt safely and responsibly. 📆 Course Dates: Wed, Oct 8 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Fri, Oct 10 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sat, Oct 11 | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM ⚠ Must attend all 3 sessions 💡 What You’ll Learn: -Hunter responsibility & ethics -Safe firearm handling & basic functions -Engaging lectures, demos, discussions, & hands-on exercises 🎓 Certification: Pass a multiple-choice exam and skills assessment to earn your Wisconsin DNR Hunter Education Safety Certificate. 👥 Who Can Join: Open to all ages — ideal for beginners or anyone refreshing their skills. Hunter Sight-In Clinic

Ready to get your firearms sighted in? Join us at Columbus Sportsman’s Association for our Annual Sight-In Clinic. Open to both members and non-members, this event ensures your rifles and shotguns are properly sighted so you can hunt safely and confidently. Whether you’re a first-time hunter or a seasoned shooter, our clinic provides the guidance, support, and range access you need to start the season prepared. The range will be open for the purpose of sighting-in your firearms prior to gun hunting season. The short range will be closed for open shooting during this event. Fee: $10.00 for the first gun and $5.00 for each additional gun. Ear and Eye protection is required for EVERYONE entering the range. If you have any questions, please call Larry at 920-344-0656.
