EDUCATION
Expanding knowledge. Building confidence. Strengthening community.
At Columbus Sportsman’s Association (CSA), we believe education is foundational to safe, responsible, and enjoyable shooting sports. Whether you're a new gun owner, a youth learning the basics, or an experienced marksman refining your skills, CSA offers programs designed to meet you where you are and help you grow.

WHY CSA Values Education
Education has always been a cornerstone of CSA’s mission. We know that great shooting starts with great habits— and that confidence on the range builds with every safe, informed decision a shooter makes. That’s why we’ve invested in educational programming for all ages and skill levels.
Whether you're preparing for your first hunt, trying trap for the first time, or curious about competitive shooting, CSA is here to support your journey.

We host DNR-approved Hunter Safety courses on-site, giving youth and first-time hunters the skills and certifications they need to enter the field responsibly. These classes often fill quickly and are a great way to connect with Wisconsin’s outdoor heritage.
Women’s-Only Firearm Classes
Our women’s shooting events provide a welcoming space for new and experienced shooters to gain confidence with handguns and rifles. From safety basics to advanced range skills, these sessions are led by knowledgeable instructors who foster a calm, no-pressure learning experience.
Intro to Trap & Shotgun Sports
These casual clinics are ideal for members and community members who want to explore trap shooting in a relaxed environment. We cover safety, stance, how to mount your shotgun, and provide personal instruction for those who are new or looking to improve.
Tactical Rifle Clinics & Long Range Education
Long-range enthusiasts can attend Tactical Rifle Clinics and Precision Rifle Series (PRS)-style events throughout the year. These sessions are perfect for shooters wanting to explore positional shooting, long-distance accuracy, gear setup, and best practices for competition.
Community Days
CSA frequently hosts public days at the range, where non-members are welcome to explore our facility, meet members, and try a variety of shooting disciplines under guided supervision. These events foster community relationships and promote responsible firearm use in our area.
