PRECISION RIMFIRE

NRL22 & PRS Rimfire Matches at CSA

Competitive shooting with a .22 LR — the rifle you probably already own.

NRL22 and PRS Rimfire bring the excitement of precision rifle competition to an affordable, accessible format. You shoot steel targets from different positions and barricades, across multiple timed stages, at distances from 25 to 300 yards. It's a real test of accuracy and composure — and one of the most welcoming communities in the shooting sports.

Never shot a match before? That's exactly who these formats are built for.

Two Formats. One Range.

Both are run at CSA by Match Director Jon Kaiser, alternating throughout the season.

What you need to compete

You don't need specialized equipment to get on the line.

  • A bolt-action .22 LR rifle with a scope

  • A bipod and rear bag for support

  • 60–100 rounds of .22 LR ammunition

Entry-level rifles like the CZ 457, Bergara BMR, and Ruger Precision Rimfire are all competitive at the club level. If you already own a scoped .22, there's a good chance you can compete with what you have.

Ammo costs are generally minimal
